"Working Hard With and For Kids"
Developing self-esteem through self-sufficiency
THE GARDEN PROGRAM
A large part of Ozark Outdoor Adventures includes teaching kids how to plant, grow and harvest their own foods. We are doing this by having them plant both a garden and eventually a food forest (planting that mimics the ecosystem - a food forest does not have to be re-planted year after year).
This will be one of our main kick-off events this year (2022), after we get the property cleaned up and safe.
Our current goals for the garden and food forest include:
-
$4950 (for tools, garden shed, program materials)
-
Organic, heirloom seeds (any varieties of vegetables)
-
Fruit trees
-
Top soil / black dirt
If you would like to get involved in the Garden Program, please contact us. We need instructors and weekly volunteers to work with kids.
